C-USA Championships To Air On FSN March 2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the first time in league history, Conference USA’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be televised. Starting on Friday, March 2, Fox Sports Network will run a tape-delayed broadcast of the meet, which UAB hosted last weekend at the state-of-the-art Birmingham CrossPlex, on its family of networks.
Fans in the Birmingham area can watch the championships on FOX Sports South on Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m. CT and on SportSouth on Monday, March 12 at 10 p.m. CT.
On one of the fastest track surfaces in the world, the meet saw 26 facility records and 23 championship marks set, while four athletes met NCAA automatic-qualifying standards.
The Tulsa men and East Carolina women won their first indoor titles in what was the closest combined title race in league history. Only 11.5 total points separated the men’s and women’s first- and second-place teams.
The Golden Hurricane men won the program's first title on the last race of the day, edging out five-time defending C-USA champion Houston by one point, 139-138. The Pirate women took control of the championship midway through the day as ECU collected 123 points to outscore defending champion UCF's 113.5.
