UAB-Mississippi State Baseball Game Halted By Rain

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Wednesday's baseball game between UAB and Mississippi State was halted by rain with the Blazers leading 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning.
The game will be resumed at a later date to be determined.
UAB took the lead early Wednesday with a two-RBI double from Jacob German in the second inning. Mississippi State answered back with a three-RBI double from Jarrod Parks in the third to put the Bulldogs on top 3-2.
After a scoreless fourth inning, UAB plated two runs in the fifth. An RBI single from Jamal Austin tied the game and another run-scoring single from Patrick Palmeiro put the Blazers back ahead at 4-3.
Mississippi State had runners at first and second with no outs in the top of the sixth inning when play was stopped. The game was delayed for slightly more than an hour before being officially halted at 9:20 p.m.
UAB hits the road this weekend for three games at the Caravelle Resort Classic at Coastal Carolina. The Blazers open play Saturday at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT) against Notre Dame.
