Alison Woods Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Sophomore volleyball player Alison Woods is the latest UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Nashville, Tenn., product and business major earned a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman in 2009.
On the court, Woods ran the Blazer offense last season with 9.94 assists per set in her rookie campaign. She also led UAB with 10 double-doubles. In the early part of this season, Woods has shared the setting duties with freshman Becca Howard as the Blazers run a new offensive attack.
Woods and the Blazers are playing this weekend at the Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with matches Friday against Furman and Toledo and a contest Saturday against host Alabama.
The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week is highlighted each Sunday night on Blazers All-Access, which airs locally at 11:35 p.m. on ABC 33/40.
