Cochran Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Junior Carolyn Cochran was named to the Conference USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced on Friday by the league office. Cochran becomes the first UAB women's golfer to earn all-academic honors.

A three-time C-USA Commisioner's Academic Medalist, Cochran currently has a 3.92 GPA in biology. The Daphne, Ala., native also has been UAB's leader on the links, winning the UAB Fall Beach Blast in November with a 36-hole score of 142 and playing in all eight tournaments this season.

Cochran and the Blazers wrap up the season this weekend at the C-USA Championship in Hattiesburg, Miss. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday and will conclude on Tuesday.
