BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's tennis team will spend the next two days in Florida, playing at Conference USA foe UCF on Sunday and at Stetson on Monday. Both contests are scheduled to start at Noon ET (11 a.m. CT).
The UCF match will be the first in a week for UAB (7-3), which was rained out Friday at Kennesaw State. In their most recent action, the Blazers split a pair of home matches last weekend, falling 6-1 to Air Force and earning a 6-1 win over Wofford.
UCF marks the second of seven conference opponents on UAB's schedule this spring. The Blazers defeated Southern Miss, their first league opponent, by a 4-3 score in Birmingham in February.
The Knights (7-2) had a six-match winning streak snapped in their last outing with a 6-1 loss to No. 60 Harvard. UCF has also played one match against a conference opponent, earning a 6-1 win over Memphis earlier this spring. Like UAB, the Knights were rained out of their match earlier this week with Bethune-Cookman.
Stetson (8-3) will host East Tennessee State on Saturday before UAB comes to town for Monday's contest. The Hatters have won four of their past five matches and defeated Eastern Kentucky 7-0 in their most recent outing.
Following the two matches in Florida, UAB will travel to Chattanooga next Saturday before hosting its next match in Birmingham, March 22 against Tulane.
