Registration Open For Marla Townsend's Winter Hitting Clinics

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Registration is open for UAB head softball coach Marla Townsend's two winter hitting clinics.
The first clinic will take place on Saturday, Dec. 4, while the second will be held on Monday, Jan. 17. The clinics will be from 9 a.m. to Noon for ages 6 through 13, and from 1 to 4 p.m. for ages 14 through 18. Both clinics will take place at the Birmingham Vipers' hitting facility in Pelham, Ala.
At the clinics, the basic fundamentals of hitting will be covered, as well as advanced hitting skills for those with sound fundamentals. Drills will be taught to address bat control, bat speed, hand-eye coordination and power. Mental toughness will also be addressed.
