UAB Finishes Second at the CSU Wendy's Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The UAB women's golf team carded a 306 in the second round on Tuesday to earn a second-place finish at the 2010 Wendy's Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern at the Coosaw Creek Country Club.
"We were very solid and consistent throughout the tournament," UAB head coach Kim Wilcox said. "That's what you have to do to be successful in golf."
Seniors Jaime Brabb and Carolyn Cochran, along with sophomore Jaime Ritter, finished in the top 10. Brabb led the Blazers with a fourth-place finish after carding a 36-hole total of 149. Brabb shot a 74 on the final day to go along with her first-round score of 75. Ritter and Cochran tied for seventh with a score of 152. Lindsay Taylor rounded out the Blazers' scoring with a 36-hole total of 160, tying for 25th place.
Bucknell took home the team title with a 36-hole total of 602, while the Blazers shot an overall score of 613 to finish second. Appalachian State rounded out the top three with a score of 620.
The Blazers return to the links next Monday at the Memphis Women's Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
