Women’s Golf Opens 2025-26 Season at Velvet Classic

BIRMINGHAM – Under first year head coach Mike McGarry, the UAB women's golf team opens the 2025-26 season this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15-16 at the Velvet Classic hosted by Murray State at the Country Club of Paducah in Kentucky.
The Blazers will field a team that consists of returners Grace Sinclair and Chloe Ruble, while newcomers Lauren Paige Slatton, Gabby Hulstrand and Annika Gomeyac make their Blazer debuts this week.
Along with the host, Murray State, UAB will compete against Alabama State, UNC Ashville, Loyola-Chicago, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Cumberlands, Troy, Indian Hill CC, West Georgia, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Eastern Illinois and Austin Peay.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Click here for live results.
