We had a good weekend overall. We played in the War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Alabama.
We started off our season with a win over Alabama A&M. We all came into this match with a lot of excitement to finally begin our season. I was extremely impressed with our freshmen during this game, they seemed very calm and did a wonderful job for us all weekend. After the game we had a really special treat! One of my teammates, Kirsten Gallagher, is from Auburn, so her parents put on a barbeque for us. All of our parents showed up and it was a wonderful and fun night that really brought our team closer.
On Saturday morning we had a tough match-up in the Auburn Tigers. We ended up coming up short in this match. We were disappointed in this outcome although I believe we learned a lot and took notice of what we need to improve on. We will work on these things during practice and come back much stronger. It was really nice how many fans we had travel to Auburn to watch us. Their support is greatly appreciated by our entire team!
This week we play Jacksonville State on Tuesday, then go to a tournament in Oxford, Mississippi. At this tournament we will face Alcorn State, Akron, Milwaukee, and Ole Miss.
We are very eager and excited for this weekend! GO BLAZERS!
