UAB/Rice Game Will Be Televised By CSS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB's 2009 season-opening football game against Rice will be televised by CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast), according to an announcement Wednesday by the Conference USA office.
The Sept. 5 C-USA contest between the Blazers and Owls at Legion Field will remain a 3:00 p.m. CT kickoff.
The addition of the Rice game for television gives the Blazers six TV appearances at the present time. There may be others added for TV at a later date.
The Sept. 19 game at Troy (2:30 p.m. CT), the Oct. 24 game at Marshall (11:00 a.m. CT) and the Nov. 14 contest at Memphis (12:00 p.m. CT) will also be televised regionally on CSS.
UAB is slated for a national TV broadcast on Thursday, Oct. 1 when the Blazers play host to Southern Miss at 7:00 p.m. CT. UAB's Nov. 21 game at East Carolina will be shown on MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network) with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
