UAB's Rogers Named To Conference USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - UAB's Andrea Rogers was one of six seniors, four juniors and two sophomores to make up the 2009 Conference USA All-Academic Softball Team, as selected by the softball sports information directors.
Rogers, a physical education major, owns a 3.42 GPA and was named to the 2009 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for the third-straight year. Rogers hit .284 for the Blazers and played in 40 games this year. She recorded six doubles, three home runs, 17 runs scored and 18 RBI for the year. As her career come to a close, Rogers has posted the highest UAB career slugging percentage (.480), on base-percentage (.429) and is the Blazers's all-time home run leader with 26.
All nine teams were represented with East Carolina placing three members on the team and two representatives from Tulsa. There were three repeat selections from last season's squad and two from the 2007 squad. The all-academic team for softball consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve for their team.
