Hey Blazer fans! It's Blazer blog time once again! What a ride this week has been! As you know, we went on a road trip this weekend to play UCF and Southern Miss. We left early Thursday morning for a nine-hour bus ride. Whew! What a trip! I must say, however, it was the nicest bus I have ever ridden on in my life! I bet this is what all the stars travel on when they hit the road. It was a deluxe bus that had sleeper seats, flat-screen TV's, and believe it or not, internet. We did work on our homework, which is always a priority as a collegiate athlete, but I must admit we took full advantage of the flat screens and internet access!
Although we didn't get to go to Disneyworld while we were in Orlando, (bummer, who doesn't love Mickey Mouse?) we did get to experience our own thrills during our volleyball match. We faced a five game Blazer fightin' match on Friday night against UCF. It was a hard fought match, and we came out on top! It was a very competitive match, and we dug deep to take the win! We celebrated with a victory dinner and boarded the bus Saturday morning to drive to Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
After our bus trip, we headed to the gym for a practice to get prepared for the next day's match. After a team breakfast on Sunday morning, we headed to the gym for our match against Southern Mississippi. While our excitement was high, our hopes for a win were quickly dashed as Southern Mississippi dismissed us in three quick, very disappointing games. As we began our bus trip home to Sweet Home Alabama, we had a lot to think about and discuss regarding where we are at this point in our season, and what we can do to capitalize on our strengths.
Moving forward to this week, we face Marshall and East Carolina at home. Please come out and support us. It always pumps us up to see our fans in the stands. We will be working hard in practice this week, and we plan to give it all we've got as our Blazer volleyball season rolls forward. See you at Bartow! Go Blazers Go!
