BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB baseball team travels to play its final non-conference game of the season at Troy Tuesday night. The Blazers beat the Trojans, 10-5, at Young Memorial Field earlier this season. The game can be heard live on 690 AM WSPZ and on Blazer All-Access as David Crane will have the call from Riddle-Pace Field.
UAB enters Tuesday game with a record of 21-31 and is 16-15 in non-conference games for the season. Troy is currently 30-22.
UAB will start Johnny Volk (0-0, 6.32) on the mound Tuesday, while Troy will counter with Rob Brown (2-2, 4.31).
The Blazers will look to stay hot at the plate on Tuesday after scoring 14 runs at UCF Sunday.
First baseman Ryan Keedy leads Conference USA with his .410 batting average to go along with eight home runs and 59 RBI. Keedy is looking to become the ninth Blazer all-time to record 60 RBI in a season and needs one double to take over sole possession of the school record for single-season doubles after he tied the superlative with his 24th double of the season on Sunday.
Right fielder Brint Hardy has come on strong to close out the season and is batting .436 with three home runs and eight stolen bases in the team's last 10 games.
Troy is led by Bryan Miller who is batting .394 with 11 home runs and 56 RBI.
