BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team will begin its quest for a conference title Monday at the 2008 Texas Roadhouse Conference USA Women's Golf Championships, hosted by UTEP in El Paso, Texas.
The three-day, 54-hole event will be held at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso. The par-72 course is 6,294 yards in length.
"We are excited for the C-USA Championships," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "I feel like we have prepared well throughout the year and we can hopefully make a run at the conference championship."
UAB will look to improve on its ninth place finish in 2007 when the Blazers hosted the event at Limestone Springs Golf Course in Oneonta, Ala.
C-USA schools that will be vying for the 2008 title are East Carolina, Marshall, Memphis, SMU, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UAB, UCF and UTEP. Memphis is the defending champion from a season ago.
The Blazers will begin to tee off at 10 a.m. MT Monday. Live scoring will be available at www.conferenceusa.com throughout the event.
