CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The UAB women's golf team recorded a three-round total of 970 to finish fourth at the El Diablo Intercollegiate Friday, hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club. Freshman Jaime Brabb paced the Blazers and placed 12th in the individual standings with a score of 237.
"As a whole, today was okay for us," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "It rained for about 13 holes and conditions were not as good as the first day. Our scores definitely suffered because of it."
Florida Atlantic captured the tournament championship with a three-round score of 917, including a tournament-best 299 during the third round. Florida Gulf Coast took second at 942 and host-school Eastern Kentucky placed third with a total of 969.
Brabb led the Blazers for the second consecutive tournament by finishing 12th overall by tallying a 237. Junior Christina Wentworth tied for 14th by carding a 243.
Sophomore Carolyn Cochran tied for 18th place with a 54-hole total of 246, while freshman Lindsay Taylor shot a 248 to tie for the 23rd position. Junior Alyson Mitchell rounded out UAB's efforts in 42nd place at 261.
Next up for the Blazers is the Samford Women's Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, Ala.
