Blazers Begin Preparations for 2008 Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The countdown is on for the start of the 2008 college baseball season and the UAB Blazers have officially begun winter training. UAB head coach Brian Shoop and his Blazer club will hold 18 practices leading up to their season opening series with Ball State, Feb. 22-24. All practices are held at Young Memorial Field and are open to the public.
Mondays will typically be the teams off days. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the team will practice from 2:15-4:30 p.m., while Wednesday practices run from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Friday practices are scheduled from 1:30-5:30 p.m. with Saturdays slated for 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Sunday practice goes from 1:30-5:00 p.m.
The aforementioned practice times are tentative.
