UAB Softball Hosts UCF in Conference USA Action

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB softball team is scheduled to take on UCF this weekend in a three-game series starting Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. The series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m. All the games will be played at George Ward Park.
The Blazers enter the series with a 21-16 overall mark after splitting a mid-week doubleheader with Georgia State Thursday. UAB is in sole possession of fifth place in the Conference USA standing heading into this weekend. The Blazers are 7-5 in the conference and took two-of-three from Tulsa last weekend.
UCF comes to Birmingham with a 13-26 overall record and remains winless in the conference at 0-12. The Golden Knights, who won the Atlantic Sun Championship in 2005, have lost 14 straight heading into the series and current sit last in the standings.
This weekend will also feature the first ever meeting between the two programs. UCF is in its first year in C-USA after the recent realignment. Complete coverage of this weekend's action can be found on www.uabsports.com.
