Erin Harris In Fourth After First Day Of Heptathlon

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ----- After the first day of competition at the Alabama Relays, UAB's Erin Harris is currently in fourth place, while Katryce Sykes is 11th overall in the heptathlon.
Through four events, Harris has 2,877 points. Her highest finish came in the 200 meters, where Harris placed third with a time of 25.68. Additionally, Harris was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles after running the event in 14.89. Harris was sixth in the shot put and seventh in the high jump.
In her first collegiate heptathlon, Sykes is in 11th place with 2,349 points. Sykes ran the 200 meters in a career best 26.36, placing sixth. In the 100-meter hurdles, she was eighth with a time of 16.39.
The final three events of the heptathlon along with several other events will begin Friday morning at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Complex on the University of Alabama campus.
