BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB track and field team will compete in the 2006 Meyo Invitational this weekend in South Bend, Ind., at the Loftus Sports Center on the Notre Dame campus. The meet is tentatively scheduled to start at 5 p.m. ET Friday, with the majority of the events slated for Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
"The Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame is one of the indoor season's premier meets," said UAB head coach Ray Stanfield. "We have performed very well there in the past years, and look forward to doing the same this year. It gives the girls a chance to see not only a different area of the country, but also to compete against a different group of athletes."
The invitational will be the fourth event this season for the Blazers. UAB was idle last week after competing in the Niswonger Invitational two weeks ago. The Blazers still have one indoor meet on Feb. 11, before the Conference USA Championship on Feb. 24-25 in Houston, Texas.
Complete results from the Meyo Invitational will be posted online at www.uabsports.com and the Notre Dame athletic website at www.und.com.
