UAB Women's Basketball Defeated By Southern Miss, 76-66

HATTIESBURG, Miss. ----- The UAB women's basketball team was defeated, 76-66, by Southern Miss Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles' Kendra Reed had a career-high 33 points in the contest.
The Blazers (14-11, 7-7) had four players score in double-digits, as they were led by Britney Jones' 13 points and three steals. Carmen Guzman had 11 points and a team-best six assists, while LaKitha Murray and Christon Ingram tallied 10 points a piece.
Southern Miss had a seven-point lead, 38-31, at the half after hitting 53.8 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes of action. The Golden Eagles didn't slow down in the second half, going 12-of-27 from the floor. Additionally, Southern Miss went to the line 29 times, compared to only 11 times for UAB.
UAB retuns to Bartow Arena for the final weekend of the regular season. The Blazers will host Rice Friday at 7 p.m., before welcoming Houston Sunday at 2 p.m. UAB will honor seniors Larezia Williams and Deirdre Larry at Sunday's game.
