UAB Finishes 18th at Lady Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The UAB women's golf team held steady in 18th place to finish the East Carolina University Lady Pirate Invitational with a combined team score of 952 over three rounds. Birmingham-Southern took home the tournament title with a total of 880 and the University of Maryland took the second spot, shooting an 885.
Third place went to Augusta State with a three-round score of 887 and UCF and East Tennessee State tied for fourth with an 889. Host-school East Carolina shot a 906 to finish in the 10th position.
Sophomore Alyson Mitchell was UAB's top performer with score of 231 to tie for the 51st spot. Senior Jennifer Head ended the tournament in 60th place with a total of 233 while senior Martha Hudson, sophomore Christina Wentworth and senior Lois Jones posted scores of 243, 247 and 254 respectively.
The Blazers' next outing will be when they host the UAB Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala. on November 6-7.
