Hurricane Postpones Weekend Volleyball Matches

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB volleyball team's first Conference USA matches of the season against Rice and Houston have been postponed due to Hurricane Rita. The Blazers were scheduled to travel to Rice for a 7 p.m. CT Friday match before returning home to face Houston on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT in Bartow Arena.

The Owls and Cougars were also scheduled to play each other Wednesday evening at Houston, but that match was postponed as well. No make-up dates have been announced yet for these matches.

UAB's next scheduled match will be at UCF on Friday, Sept. 30 in Orlando, Fla. The Blazers and Golden Knights will square off at 7 p.m. ET.
