Blazers' Season Ends At NCAA Mideast Regional Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ---- The UAB track and field team finished competition Saturday at the 2005 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by Indiana University. The Blazers ended the season with some of their best performances of the spring season.
Freshman Whitney Mays finished ninth in her 3,000-meter steeplechase heat with a time of 10:52.16. Mays' time is her second-fastest time of the season, following her 10:45.60 at the Conference USA Championships, where she earned all-conference honors.
The 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Shauntel Jennings, seniors Adrienne Duke and Elace Minnifield and freshman Tara Colvin took sixth in their heat. The UAB foursome ran a 3:41.87, the second-fastest time for the year.
Sophomore Erin Harris finished second in her flight during the triple jump competition. Harris had a mark of 39-7 3/4.
