Blazers Travel To National City Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The UAB track and field team heads to Bowling Green, Ky., for the National City Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky University this weekend as competition begins Friday. The meet is the final regular season competition before the Blazers head to Houston for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships May 12-14.
UAB returns to competition after taking a weekend off, as the Blazers last ran in the Jace Lacoste Invitational on April 16, hosted by Mississippi State. UAB finished in third place out of eight teams.
The Blazers will be competing against Austin Peay, Belmont, Clayton State, Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, host WKU and Conference USA rival Cincinnati this weekend.
Competition begins on Friday with the hammer throw at 3 p.m. and will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the high jump. The meet concludes Saturday evening following the 4x400-meter relay at 4:55 p.m. Final results will be available at www.wkusports.com on Saturday upon completion of the meet.
