BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB baseball team has been ranked 31st in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA), it was announced on Monday. The Blazers return to the rankings for the first time since March 9, 2004 and at No. 31, have received their highest ranking since also being tabbed 31st on March 31, 2003 by the NCBWA.
UAB is 15-5 on the season after reeling off nine consecutive victories, including a three-game sweep of Saint Louis to open Conference USA play last weekend at Young Memorial Field. The current nine-game winning streak is UAB's longest single-season mark since beginning the 2003 season with 13 straight wins.
The Blazers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Birmingham-Southern for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Panthers.
