BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB volleyball team wraps up its five-match road swing Friday at Memphis when it takes on the Tigers at 7 p.m. CT. The Blazers then return to Birmingham for their first home conference match of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT again versus Memphis. UAB enters the weekend 10-2 overall and 1-1 in league play while the Tigers are 10-7 and 2-0 in C-USA contests.
UAB split a pair of conference contests on the road last weekend. The Blazers were handed a 3-1 loss by UCF in Orlando Friday evening before rebounding with a 3-1 win of their own at Southern Miss Sunday afternoon. UAB has won just nine of its 37 all-time meetings against Memphis.

Oquendo notched double-doubles in both matches against UCF and Southern Miss, including a career-best, 32-kill performance Sunday in Hattiesburg. Oquendo has been one of UAB's most balanced players this season, ranking second on the team in kills (135), kills per game (3.29), assists (26), and third in blocks (29).
Memphis also played at Southern Miss and UCF last weekend, coming away with a pair of victories. The Tigers were led by freshman setter Laura Cote who received her second Conference USA Setter of the Week honor of the season for her play last weekend. Cote had a career-best 66 assists in Memphis' win at UCF Sunday and also recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 42 assists and 11 digs in the Tigers' sweep of Southern Miss Friday evening.
