BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- In what was originally scheduled as an off week, the UAB Track and Field team will send five multi-event athletes to Clemson this weekend to compete in the Clemson Heptathalon/Pentathalon meet in Clemson, S.C.
Seniors Adrienne Duke and Judy Shepherd, sophomores Erin Harris and Penny Shields and freshman Tracy Rowan will all compete in the pentathalon this weekend.
"This meet gives the girls an opportunity to compete in a pentathalon before the Conference USA Championships and it gives them a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championship," said UAB assistant coach Jennifer Robeson.
Other schools competing in the meet are Alabama, Appalachian State, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Tech, Western Carolina and host Clemson.
