UAB Volleyball Travels To Battle Mississippi State On Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB volleyball team will head to Starkville, Miss., to face Mississippi State on Tuesday night. The Blazers and Bulldogs will square off at 7 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum.
UAB (0-8) is coming off a heart-breaking 3-2 loss at Auburn on Saturday evening. The Blazers won games two and four, hitting at a .297 clip (29-10-64), but hit a mere .023 (23-21-87) in games one, three, and five, all of which they lost. UAB dominated the fourth game, winning 30-17, but Auburn came back to take the fifth game by a score of 15-13 to clinch the match.
Mississippi State (6-5) finished second in the 2004 MSU/Microtel Classic held in Starkville this past weekend. The Bulldogs topped Louisiana Tech 3-2 but dropped a 3-1 decision in the championship match to Memphis in Saturday's final day of competition. Mississippi State went 2-1 for the weekend.
