UAB's Cross Country Named NCAA All-Academic Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- UAB's cross country team has been named to the list of schools earning NCAA All-Academic team with distinction status, it was announced Wednesday.

The Blazers' cross country team finished the 2002 season with the honor after achieving a combined team GPA of 3.28. The NCAA requires a minimum of 3.00 to be considered an all-academic team. A team that finishes the season with a team GPA of 3.25 or higher is named an all-academic team with distinction.

Members of the 2002 team included Heather Burdett, Amanda Kara, Rina Kara, Kristen Lunn, Donna Pucke and Emily Scarbrough.
