Volleyball Falls To Wake Forest

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - UAB (3-9, 0-0 Conference USA fell to Wake Forest (4-6, 0-0 ACC) 30-20, 30-23, 30-25 Friday evening in volleyball action at the Black and Gold Challenge.
Senior outside hitter Kristi Lee had seven kills to lead UAB. Senior outside hitter/right side hitter Dina Katsoulis, playing in place of injured starting setter Kilee Goetz, had 22 assists and three total blocks for the Blazers.
"We still continue to struggle with inconsistent performances," said UAB head coach Melinda Claiborne. "We look forward to turning that around tomorrow with our matches against San Diego State and Winthrop."
Wake Forest was led by Kim Stern who had 12 kills and hit for .556. Ashlee Phillips added 29 assists, five kills and hit for .444 for the Demon Deacons.
UAB will face San Diego State Saturday at 11 a.m. (ET) and will meet Winthrop at 5 p.m. (ET) in the Blazers' final match of the tournament.
