Women's Tennis Defeated 4-1 by Central Florida

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB women's tennis team fell 4-1 to Central Florida Saturday afternoon in a match at the Brook Highland Racquet Club. With the loss, the Blazers drop to 0-4 on the season, while UCF improved to 5-1.
The Blazer's only point of the match came at the No. 1 singles position as senior Monika Schmid defeated Emmanuelle Sauze 7-5, 6-2. Schmid is a perfect 4-0 in singles play this season with all of her wins coming at the No. 1 spot. In doubles, she stands at 3-0 with partner Femke deBoer.
The Blazers return to action Feb. 24 at they host C-USA member Charlotte in a 10:30 a.m. match-up.
