Blazer Cross Country Places at Auburn Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. ----- The UAB Blazer cross country team competed Saturday at the Auburn Invitational. The team finished 21st of 30 teams from across the country.
Junior Amanda Kara led the team once again placing 43rd with a time of 18:05.19. This time places her in the No. 4 spot for UAB all-time records.
Rounding out the Blazer finishers were Emily Scarbrough (19:56.25), Heather Burdett (20:32.27), Rina Kara (20:33.09) and Donna Pucke (20:33.01). Seniors Rina Kara and Donna Pucke ran for the all time best marks of their careers.
Virginia Tech finished first in the meet, followed by host Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and South Florida.
The Blazers will take a week off from competition to prepare for the Conference USA Regional Championships to be held on November 2.
