Yolanda Cooper Leads Track And Field Team

The UAB women's track and field team continued their indoor season as they travelled to Indiana University to compete in the Indiana Invitational. This meet did not tally team scores.
In the 60-meter dash, senior Yolanda Cooper surpassed her mark of 7.60 to hold the number one spot in the Conference USA rankings as she finished second in her heat with a time of 7.56. In the finals, she finished fourth overall with a time of 7.61.
Also moving up in the Conference USA rankings was sophomore Donna Pucke. Running a 2:19.60 in the preliminaries, Pucke moved up from sixth to fourth. She finished the event in ninth place with a time of 2:27.91.
The Blazers will head to their next meet, the two-day Cannon IV Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. next weekend from Friday, Feb. 9 to Saturday, Feb. 10.
