- Played three years at Bartow High School before playing senior season at George Jenkins High School
- Led Jenkins in scoring (12.5 ppg), rebounding (8.6 rpg) and blocked shots (91) as a senior
- Was selected as the Most Valuable Player, All-County Second Team and All-State Second Team
- Helped lead Bartow to District 3 runner-up finish, two second round regional appearances and a first round regional appearance
- As a junior, led team in rebounding, blocked shots and was second in scoring while receiving Offensive Player of the Year honors
- A two-time all-county selection at Bartow, averaged 10 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game and 2.5 blocks per game as a junior
- Also played with some of the top Florida AAU teams, Florida Flight and Central Florida Elite
