Gabriel Rivera joined the UAB men's soccer staff in July 2022. As director of operations, he is responsible for the day-to-day activity of the program as well as game and training preparation, film exchange and team logistics.
Rivera joined the Blazers after spending 2021 with the Birmingham Legion FC of the USL Championship where he served in a similar capacity with a focus on game day operations.
On the field, Rivera played semi-professional for FC Birmingham for the UPSL for two seasons. He also was a wide receiver for Birmingham Southern on the Panthers' 2021 squad.
A native of Bessemer, Rivera graduated from John Carrol Catholic High School where he serves as an assistant coach for the boy's varsity soccer team.
