UAB head men’s golf coach Matt Whall named former Blazer John Racciatti as the new assistant coach of the UAB men’s golf program on Sept. 6, 2022.
Racciatti is a recent graduate who helped the Blazers earn their second-straight berth into NCAAs last season. He played in 21 rounds last season and carried a 74.6 stroke average.
“I am extremely excited to add JJ to the staff, “Whall said. “He is a dedicated and driven young man that loves this game and that passion will be used to help develop the young men that walk through our doors. He understands what it means to be a Blazer and the direction we are trying to take the program and I couldn’t think of a better guy to help us do that.”
A native of Fairhope, Ala., Racciatti played in 19 career tournaments for the Blazers which culminated in the 2022 Conference USA Championship.
Racciatti joins Whall who returns eight Blazers from last year, including three of their top four players. UAB looks to make it back to NCAAs for a third straight year and for the 15th time in program history this season.
