Redshirted his freshman season before transferring to UAB.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Played for coach Robert Maddox at Lee-Scott Academy… Was a three year starter at quarterback… As a senior was named an All-Area first team member, passing for 904 yards with nine touchdowns… Tacked on an additional 483 rushing yards, with seven touchdowns… Named an AISA All-Star as a senior… Also played defensive end, finishing with one sack and six tackles for loss during his final campaign.
