UAB Football Head Coach Alex Mortensen and Director of Sports Performance Lyle Henley named Bryant Novick as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach on January 21, 2026. Novick spent the last two seasons at ULM as the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
Novick played offensive line for the Blazers from 2013-14 and 2017-18. Upon graduating with a degree in Business Management from UAB in 2019, Novick joined the Blazers strength staff as an intern for the 2019 season and was then promoted to an assistant strength coach for 2020 and 2021.
Novick spent the 2022 season as the Director of Sports Performance for the football program at Long Island University before returning to Birmingham in January of 2023 as the Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach.
As a player, Novick appeared in 25 career games and was a member of the historic 2017 and 2018 teams. In 2018, Novick helped the Blazers win their first ever Conference USA Championship and set a school record with 11 victories.
