UAB Athletics Posts Record Academic Success During Spring 2026 Semester

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB Athletics continued its strong tradition of academic achievement during the Spring 2026 semester, posting a department-wide 3.45 GPA while all programs earned a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the second consecutive semester.
The Blazers also finished the 2025-26 academic year with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.46.
A total of 107 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring semester, while another 106 posted GPAs between 3.50 and 3.99. Overall, 294 student-athletes – 77 percent of UAB's student-athlete population – recorded a GPA above 3.0 during the semester.
UAB Football matched its highest semester GPA on record with a 3.05 mark during Spring 2026, while 62 football student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or better. Men's Basketball also posted the highest spring semester GPA in program history with a 3.31 mark, while recording a cumulative team GPA of 3.34, also a program record.
Women's Tennis led all programs with a department-best 3.90 GPA, while Men's Tennis posted the highest GPA among men's programs at 3.70. Women's Golf also earned honorable mention recognition with a 3.77 GPA.

In addition to success in the classroom, UAB student-athletes continued to make an impact in the community. Blazer student-athletes completed 1,221 hours of community service during the spring semester and totaled 3,315 service hours throughout the 2025-26 academic year. Those efforts produced an estimated economic impact of $115,341 across the academic year.
UAB Athletics also celebrated 53 graduates this spring, including 50 active student-athletes and three former student-athletes.
