BLAZERS HEAD WEST FOR THE LBSU INVITE: UAB faces another challenging weekend as it travels to the West Coast to compete in the LBSU Invite. The Blazers open Friday against host No. 11 Long Beach State at 11:45 a.m. before taking on Santa Clara at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, UAB meets another nationally ranked opponent in No. 9 LMU at 11:45 a.m. The Blazers close the tournament against Cal State Bakersfield at 3:30 p.m., a team they defeated at the FSU Unconquered Invitational two weeks ago. UAB has not previously faced Long Beach State or LMU. The Blazers are receiving votes in this week's AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll.
STOCKARD AND CAIRO NAMED C-USA PAIR OF THE WEEK: Claudia Stockard and Lauren Cairo earned Conference USA Pair of the Week honors after a 4-0 weekend at Court 3, highlighted by dual-clinching three-set victories over No. 18 Washington and TruVolley No. 20 Tulane. The duo improved to 7-2 on the season, with Cairo moving into the top five in program history for Court 3 wins (14-1 career record) and Stockard remaining a perfect 8-0 in her career at the position.
HAAS STANDS ALONE AT THE TOP: Senior Jasmine Haas earned the 71st victory of her career against Washington, becoming UAB's all-time individual wins leader. Haas surpassed former partner Arden Coping to take sole possession of first place in the program record book. She finished the weekend with 74 career wins and holds a 7-2 record this season. Haas and current partner Olivia Stant also continued their climb in the record book, earning four wins to move into third place in program history for career wins by a duo with 33.
ROSE TWO WINS FROM HISTORY: Head coach Delaney Rose is nearing a milestone. She is two victories away from becoming the program's all-time wins leader with 48. Rose currently holds a 46-30 record in her two-plus seasons at UAB. Terri Del Conte, who led the program from 2021-23, holds the current record at 47-49. Rose also owns the highest winning percentage in program history at .605.
