STETSON INVITE PREVIEW: The UAB beach volleyball team returns to action Friday at the Stetson Invite in DeLand, Florida. The Blazers (7-6) are part of a competitive field that includes nationally ranked competition. Host Stetson (10-4) is currently ranked No. 15 in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll. Florida Gulf Coast (6-6), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-5) and Southern Miss (3-9) round out UAB's tournament opponents. Action begins Friday at 7:30 a.m. CT as the Blazers open play against Southern Miss.
ROSE TIES ALL-TIME WINS RECORD: With a win on day two of the LBSU Invite against Cal State Bakersfield, head coach Delaney Rose earned her 47th career victory at UAB, pulling her into a tie with Terri Del Conte for the program's all-time lead in wins. Rose is currently in her third season as head coach of the Blazers after guiding the team to a program-best 21 wins in 2025.
CHYCHRUN AND KNOTT EARN RANKED VICTORY: Although UAB dropped a match to No. 11 Long Beach State last weekend at the LBSU Invite, Olivia Chychrun and Ava Grace Knott picked up a straight-set victory on Court 4. The win improved their record as a duo to 9-4 on the season, tied for the best mark on the team with Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant.
HAAS AND STANT ONE WIN FROM HISTORY: Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant sit one win away from setting the program record for career victories by a duo. The pair hold a 35-11 record together and are currently tied for first in program history. The record is shared with the pairs of Kiriana Hirini/Bethanie Thomas and Sara Rishell/Rachel Fairbanks.
