Seven-Run Inning Fuels Blazer Comeback Win

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - UAB Softball came back from down 3-0 to defeat Lipscomb 9-3, scoring seven runs in the fifth inning. The Blazers tallied 17 hits, the most by UAB since May 7, 2022, vs UTEP (20). Olivia Cummings pitched her second complete game win of the weekend, shutting down the Bisons' offense. Cummings retired the final 14 Lipscomb batters.
Hits came in from every direction with 10 different Blazers recording hits. Hannah Dorsett led the team with three hits, including a two-run double in the sixth inning. After her second straight game starting in the dugout, Hope Tucker had a pair of RBI singles. Charlee Bennett and Abbi Perkins each recorded their second-straight two-hit game. Hannah Miles drove in a pair of runs with a sacrifice fly and bases-loaded hit by pitch.

Lipscomb did all of its damage in two innings; the Bisons did not reach base in any of the other five innings.
- UAB Heads to Mobile, Ala., next weekend for another five-game set. UAB opens the weekend against Jacksonville State and hosts South Alabama. The Blazers will see Jacksonville State again on Saturday ahead of a lone matchup against Western Michigan. UAB closes the weekend with a second game against South Alabama
