American Conference Weekly Honors: Chance Westry

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - Chance Westry was named the American Conference Player of the Week for his performances against Temple and Memphis last week. The Blazers went 2-0, winning both games on the road and improved to 8-0 on the road in conference play. The Blazers sit at 4th in the American Conference men's basketball standings with a 9-6 record.
Westry earned player of the week, starting off with 24 points, eight assists, and three rebounds against Temple. Following that performance with 23 points, six assists, and five steals against Memphis. This was UAB's first win against Memphis at the FedExForum and the first win in Memphis since 1999.
Westry made 16 free throws on the week, averaging 23.5 points and seven assists over the two-game span. He is averaging 15.2 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game so far this season.
UAB is back in action on Sunday when they face North Texas at 11:00 a.m. in Bartow Arena.
