Blazers Finish With Six Personal Bests at Bob Pollock Invite

CLEMSON – UAB Track & Field completed day 1 of the Bob Pollock Invite with six personal bests on the day.
Corinne Ball began the day for the Blazers with her Indoor PR in the Long Jump where she jumped to a mark of 5.52m.
The Duren sisters, Kat and Nessa, competed in the 60m Hurdles for the Green and Gold. Kat recorded her season best time with a time of 8.89 seconds. Nessa recorded her personal best time coming in at 9.00 seconds, surpassing her previous best by .27 seconds.
Kenlie Nelson (7 seconds), Sangie Lincoln-Velez (3 seconds), and Savannah Meyer (3 seconds) all competed in the Mile race for the Blazers and eclipsed their previous bests. Lincoln-Velez's time of 4:55.98 is now the 7th-best Indoor Mile time in school history. Lia Castillo also recorded her season best time in the race.
Jasmine Dereje made her season debut in the 400m race and recorded her personal best time. Dereje finished in 56.72 seconds and now holds the 9th-best Indoor 400m time in school history.
Due to impending wintry weather conditions in Clemson, the Blazers will not be competing on Saturday. UAB will return to action on February 6-7 as the Blazers will head back to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Green and Gold Invite and the UAB Invite. Friday's events will begin at 9 a.m. while Saturday's events will start at 8:45 a.m.
