Blazers Fall to Bulls 1–0 in a Tightly Contested Match

TAMPA, Fla. – The UAB men's soccer team (1-3-1, 0-1-0 AAC) lost 1-0 to unbeaten South Florida (3-0-4, 1-0-0 AAC). on Friday night at Corbett Soccer Stadium.
UAB matched the Bulls with 14 total shots, but the Blazers couldn't find the back of the net despite sustained late pressure. Humphrey Doh (Madina, Ghana/University of Ghana) led the visitors with six shots, including one on target. Goalkeeper Tom Mabon (Saint Nazaire, France/CNED) had three saves on the night with one goal against.
The Bulls broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Pedro Faife finished off a setup from Mathis Haugen, notching his second goal of the season.
UAB held an 8–4 edge in corner kicks, yet South Florida controlled possession (59%–41%) and capitalized on its best chance.
UAB travels to Atlanta to face Georgia State in a non-conference matchup on Monday.
