Women’s Basketball Signs Monae Duffy

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball head coach Randy Norton announced the signing of forward Monae Duffy on Tuesday.
"We are incredibly excited to add Monae Duffy to our UAB family," Norton said. "Monae is a relentless rebounder on both ends of the floor, an elite defender, and an amazing teammate who embodies everything we value in our program. She is all about winning and doing whatever it takes to help her team succeed. We can't wait to coach her and know she will make an immediate impact on our culture and success."
Duffy spent her first two seasons at Hutchinson Community College where she averaged 11.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. During her freshman season she averaged 13.1 points, 8.7 rebounds per game, and was 48.5 percent from the field. For Duffy's sophomore campaign, she recorded 10.8 points, 7.8 rebounds per game and had a 52.7 percentage in field goals.
While with the Blue Dragons for two seasons, Duffy helped the team to a Conference Championship, Region Six Championship and a National Championship. She also earned All-Conference First Team both years. Duffy played in 68 games and started in 67 while at Hutchinson.
The Lafayette, Louisiana native spent her junior season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Last season she averaged 6.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. Duffy saw action in 30 games while making five starts. The 5-10 forward shot 46.3 percent from the field and averaged 18.7 minutes per game.
For Duffy's collegiate career, she has had 43 double figure scoring games, 21 10-plus rebounding games and 16 double-doubles. In total, she has registered 991 points and 752 rebounds.
Duffy joins Jordan Rosier as the second portal signee for the 2025-26 class and joins freshmen signees Ashlyn Howard, Mari Miller, Sofia Munoz and Peyton Musial.
