BIRMINGHAM – The UAB football team has released its 2025 promotional schedule for its six home games this fall at Protective Stadium.
The Blazers open the season on Thursday, Aug. 28 with a Party at Protective against Alabama State. This will be the seventh time in eight years UAB has opened the season on a Thursday night and there will be $5 domestic drink specials to kick off the year.
Following a conference away game at Navy, UAB returns home on Sept. 13 to host Akron for Kids Takeover Day. That will also be the annual Extra Yard for Teachers game in conjunction with the College Football Playoff.
The Blazers host reigning American Conference Champion Army on Oct. 4, which will be UAB's Salute to Service game and is also UAB's Family Weekend. UAB leads Army 5-1 in the all-time series, and this will be the first time hosting the Black Knights in Birmingham since 2003.
Homecoming is set for Oct. 18 in the Battle For The Bones against Memphis. This will be the 18th meeting between the two teams with UAB leading the series 10-7.
UAB will recognize all first responders and medical professionals against North Texas on Nov. 15 for its Hometown Heroes game and then remains in Birmingham the following weekend to host South Florida on Nov. 22 for Senior Day.
The 2025 season marks UAB's fifth inside Protective Stadium and UAB has an overall record of 15-8 dating back to the 2021 season. Since returning to action in 2017, the Blazers are 36-9 in Birmingham.
