UAB Beach Goes 2-0, Finishes Undefeated at Blazer Beach Bash

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB beach volleyball team won both of its matches on the final day of the Blazer Beach Bash to finish the tournament undefeated at 4-0.
The Blazers swept Austin Peay in their first match of the day 5-0, then topped Southeastern Louisiana 4-1 in their final match of the weekend to improve their overall record to 18-10 this season.
Prior to the match against Austin Peay, the Blazers honored their three seniors: Azmabeth Infante, Ali O'Donnell and Klea Sirois. The three played lights out as each won their matches in straight sets on courts two, three and five.
On Court 1, Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant won their 22-second match of the season to establish a new school record for single season Court 1 wins and the most single season wins by a pair in program history.
Additionally, sophomore Addison Atkins' victory with O'Donnell was her 25th career victory on Court 5, which is a new school record for most career Court 5 wins.
Against Southeastern Louisiana, UAB won on court one through four. The wins for Haas/Stant on Court 1 and the win for Sirois on Court 3 improved all their records to 23-5 overall. The 23 victories are a new school record for overall single season wins.
Haas and Stant have now won 10 in-a-row, while Sirois and her teammate Lauren Cairo have won eight in-a-row and that duo now has an record of 14-2 together this year.
UAB concludes the regular season next Saturday with one match at North Alabama and then heads to the CUSA Tournament, which is scheduled for April 24-26 in Youngsville, La.
