Weathersby Named AAC All-Conference

BIRMINGHAM – The American Athletic Conference announced on Thursday that Jade Weathersby earned Second Team All-Conference following a vote by the conference's head coaches.
Weathersby, an AAC Honorable Mention selection, leads the Blazers and ranks second in the American with 9.4 rebounds per game. She also ranks second on the team with 11.0 points per game. This season, Weathersby has recorded 18 double figure scoring games, 14 10-plus rebounding games, and nine double-doubles.
As a sophomore, Weathersby reached 500 career points on February 8 and had a standout game when she registered a career-high 27 points. She also had a career-best 19 rebounds on January 25 at Wichita State.
In total this season, Weathersby has recorded 329 points, 281 rebounds, 29 blocks and 25 steals. She ranks first in the conference in defensive rebounds, averaging 7.5 per game.

UAB (16-14, 7-11 AAC) will be the No. 8 seed in the American Athletic Conference Championship, which begins Saturday, March 8 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Blazers first game will tip off on Sunday, March 9 against No. 9 seed Rice (14-16, 7-11 AAC) at 12 p.m. CT.
