BIRMINGHAM – On a chilly day under Legacy Pavilion, 14 members of the UAB football team participated in Pro Day to showcase their talents in front of NFL Scouts.
Desmond Little highlighted the group with impressive numbers, despite not doing bench press due to postseason surgery on his wrist. Most impressively, the 6-foot-4, 242-pound edge rusher posted a 4.57 40-yard dash which turned heads, while recording a 33-inch vertical and looking smooth and fluid in his positional drills. His 4.57 40-yard dash would have ranked him third at the NFL Combine.
Linebacker Michael Moore also had a strong day, measuring in at 6-foot-4, 228 lbs and tallying a 35-inch vertical jump and a mid 4.6 40-yard dash. Moore showed dynamic movement in his drills and the ability to catch the ball after leading the team in tackles (92) and interceptions (2) in 2024.
Offensively, Quez Yates improved his stocked by testing well. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound guard posted the most reps on bench with 21, while looking fast and athletic during his 5.27 40-yard dash.
The Blazers have had a player drafted in each of the last four NFL Drafts: DE Jordan Smith (2021), DE Alex Wright (2022), RB DeWayne McBride (2023) and WR Tejhaun Palmer (2024).
This year's draft is scheduled for April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
